John, I saw your photos on the "Fuel Tank" thread and I like what you did with the rudder return springs. I've been planning the same thing so it's nice to see that someone else has done it. Can you supply any other photos of that installation?

Hi Doug,
That's the only photo I have for the rudder pedal return spring. I just welded a 90 degree angle bracket on the longeron and used hardware store springs that felt "about right".

I used a strip of .020 4130 measuring about 1/2" X 1 1/2" bent at about a 45 deg. angle at midpoint, drilled a hole to match the engine mount bolt size on one end and a hole just big enough to latch on the end of a spring (hardware store variety) and latch the other end of the spring to the rudder return pedal. Welding a tab is a good idea but my frame was already painted...
