Added more pictures to my Hatz Classic construction photo gallery. Click the following link for the latest images. In the past week, ribs have been glued to the spars, metal fittings bolted on, drag/anti-drag wires installed, wings trammeled.

Added more pictures to my Hatz Classic construction photo gallery. Click the following link for the latest images. New pictures show forward upper wing access plate being laminated to produce a slight curve so that it follows the contour of the airfoil. Also shown are the trailing edge gusset notches which were cut on a router table and gluing the trailing edge to the ribs.

Let me know if I should stop posting when I add new pictures. I don't want to overdo it and annoy people.

The last piece of wood was glued to the upper left wing of #86 tonight. Now it's time to shape the leading edge, sand, fill, sand, sand, sand, and seal.

Thanks Nick. I hope to chronicle the build through completion. It's going to be a long journey so I hope you guys are a patient lot :).

I added several more pictures of the wing rough sanded to shape. This wing will take very little filler (mostly nail holes) and no filler at the number 10 rib unlike the first wing. I think I got the #10 rib's shape right on the money now.

Wow, my little album has 397 files and viewed 7,670 times. Most of the views are really web crawlers.

Finished spraying the epoxy sealer on the upper left wing today. The two upper wings are now done and will hang on the garage wall for the next few years. It's now time to start the bottom wings. This is getting a little monotonous :-)

Congratulations, Scott, on that milestone. I'm the other way around. Nearly done the bottom wings and plan to do the uppers this winter.

Bottom right wing coming along.

Wing walk reinforcement joists and supports. Plans call for 2 vertical supports but I decided on 3.

Scott, works of art are meant to be hung on the wall. Beautiful workmanship. It will be a shame to cover them when the time comes.
