Sheet 13 - Tailwheel spring mount

Post by orchardair »

Regarding the part that clamps the tail spring right under the vertical post of the vertical stabilizer:
The plans don't specify the thickness of the material. Am I correct to say that the part welded to the fuselage is 0.125" thick, while the "U" shaped bracket with the two 5/16" tubing on the sides is made out of 0.090"?

I used .0125 for both parts.

Hi Ron,
I used .090 for the piece that is welded to the tail post and .063 for the U shape bracket. No problems so far.
