You could use a Piper PA-12 guage available from Wag-Aero.

Take it apart and cut it down. The bottom part with the float will unscrew fvrom the sight gage part. The wire will come out of the cork and can be cut to size. You can also remove the 1/2 and full red letters with a little acetone. Leave the E

Fuel Site Guage

I have a Hatz but the Stearman style fuel guage needs replaced. I purchased one from Aircraft Spruce but it was too long. Does anyone know where I can get one that will fit the Hatz 18 gal fuel tank? Thanks.
