Hatzers, I just pulled my tail wheel spring off to do a minor change and found that the steel washer under the nut that attaches the tail wheel spring at its forward most point was squashed like it was made of copper! And the 9/16" bolt was worn a little. This is after three years and some 100 hours. Just a note to say the tail wheel spring/bolt assembly takes a beating. I will pull it annually from now on. I think I will use a large diameter AN washer to replace the crushed one. See if that helps spread the load and lessen deformation...
