I was really surprised when I saw a guy at Oshkosh making a fuselage with an abrasive cut-off and a duckbill snips. His joints were completely acceptable and very quick. True, the learning curve may not have been too steep, but after doing mine with saw and grinder it was crazy. A pair of snips reportedly lasted one fuselage. Tubing was .035 wall.

VR3 is working on my fuselage gear and tail kit now. The preliminary drawings are really great, and I'm very excited! I spoke with VR3 several years ago (2005-2006?) at Osh about the possibility of taking the kit on. I'm happy that the time has finally arrived to move forward with the project!

I used the Metal Geek app for my engine mount. The fit was amazing.

THAT is cool. Would have been very helpful about 5 years ago....

That's very cool. If you're struggling trying to do it yourself, check this out. I've tried a few times with sample pieces and it worked perfectly.
