Thanks Mark. The Corvair engine seems like it might be a good item to try in a design like the Hatz.

Like with the VW engine, there is a very loyal group of Corvair engine followers/users. I have no experience with the Corvair, so I can't personally attest to it's reliability. The key aspect of using this or any other engine of this horse power on a Hatz , I would think, is to build the aircraft as light as possible, just like you have to do when using the 0-200.

Hope that this doesn't sound silly to some out there, but has anyone ever seen a Hatz with a Corvair engine installed? Figures indicate that the weight of the unit comes in at approximately the same as the Continental 0-200.
