Good to hear you talked Jeff. There are not many options for these so this is good to know.

I plan on using the ones from McMaster. Mr. Shoemake told me they will be just fine, and the ones I have are not chrome plated. If the .250 is a problem, I will make my struts a little longer.

I considered these but passed on them for a few reasons where they don't match the plans:

Material: Carbon Steel
Threaded shaft length: 1.25 inch

The packaging indicates they are made by QA1 Precision Products (http://www.qa1.net/rod-ends-and-related/clevises/clevises ). The QA1 site also mentions Chrome plating. If they are plated then they need to have spent some time in an oven to address hydrogen embrittlement. These are structural components and their site doesn't specify whether or not they meet aircraft standards.

I'm not saying they won't work, just saying there wasn't enough info (in addition to the differences) for me to feel they would serve as a comparable replacement.

Hi,

I'm searching for a similar part for my Marquart Charger.

In regard to the McMaster part number 4749T111. This part of AISI 1045 Medium Carbon Steel with a hardness of Rockwell 88 B. The threads are rolled.

Based off the 3D CAD model, the yoke opening depth as measured from the centerline of the hole is .55"

Yesterday I got the six forks in the mail. They are beautiful.

Carl emailed me back yesterday and said he was very sorry for the delay and that he was having his son devote 100% to completing our orders. He also said that he has two orders ready to go if anyone is in need of having them ASAP.
I assured him that we appreciate his work and that no apology was needed. That said, we should have them within the next couple weeks.

I just pinged Carl as well.

I emailed Carl this morning, I will keep you posted of his response. I'm sure it's just a matter of getting them finished and actually glad that his shop is that busy. Knowing that we would not have resources such as Carl and his shop at our disposal unless his shop had plenty of other work to keep him in business is reassuring.
